The University of the Philippines Open University, through the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA), appointed Dr. Aurora V. Lacaste as Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (A2VCAA) for Instruction effective 1 August 2023..
Dr. Lacaste earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology, cum laude, in 2002 and graduated with a Masters degree in Zoology in 2008, both at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB). She began her teaching career in the same educational institution, specifically in the Animal Biology Division of the Institute of Biological Sciences (IBS).
She furthered her teaching career at UPOU by serving as a faculty member and Program Chair for the Diploma in Science Teaching in the Faculty of Education (FEd). She also served as the University Registrar from 2017 to 2019. She also taught courses in other programs such as Associate in Arts (AA), Bachelor of Education Studies (BES), Master of Environment and Natural Resources Management (MENRM), and Diploma in Science Teaching (DST).
Dr. Lacaste is about to complete her Doctorate degree in Education and Human Development through the International Graduate Program of the National Sun Yat-sen University at Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
