CENTER FOR OPEN AND DIGITAL TEACHING AND LEARNING
Center for Open and Digital Teaching and Learning (CODTL) is mandated to provide academic, technical and administrative support and services to the design and delivery of academic programs and courses for quality, open, accessible, inclusive, flexible higher and continuing education in UPOU and extend learning materials development services to other recognized partner institutions.
OFFICE OF THE STUDENT AFFAIRS
The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) shall provide appropriate student services to our unique set of students in the distance education setting. The general goal is to provide information, advice and guidance to prospective and current students regarding their psychological, financial, emotional and academic needs and concerns when studying in distance mode. Specifically, in order to fulfill its mandate, the UPOU OSA, shall have the following functions: provide support for sustainable and meaningful learning in the distance education mode; connect the students, socially and academically, in order to create nurturing learning community; provide financial assistance to students through scholarship, loans, and other forms of financial assistance; provide assistance and support to student activities and organization concerns; facilitate and assist students in participating in international programs aligned with their program of study at the university; assist students with special needs and those coping with risks and affected by disasters and crises; manage the university’s Learning and Testing Centers.
OFFICE OF THE UNIVERSITY REGISTRAR
The Office of the University Registrar (OUR) is responsible for a variety of services for its constituents. These include student admission and registration; grade reporting, transcript of records generation; and the maintenance of academic records. The OUR also provides certification of student enrolment and earned units/degrees, development of academic calendar and management of the Academic Information Management System (AIMS). It also provides assistance and acts as Secretariat to the University and Executive Committee meetings. The OUR will continuously strive to provide better service by improving its existing systems through the development of more online services and applications. At present, the OUR is composed of the Admission Section; Registration Section; Student Records and Appraisal Section; and EDP Section.
UNIVERSITY LIBRARY
The UPOU Library provides excellent source of information, satisfying the needs of the distance learning community. It enables onsite and offsite users to retrieve information in various formats and receive information as needed for instruction. The UPOU Library is an electronic library that provides fast access to information resources. Its collections in multimedia formats are accessible to all members of UPOU community. It also provides key indexes and pointers to other sites where information can be downloaded either for free or for a minimal fee. It is an active member to larger library network to widen its scope in sharing resources among members, faculty, staff, and students alike.
