Academic Affairs Committee
The UPOU Academic Affairs Committee (AAC) is an advisory and deciding body on academic matters. The committee members include the VCAA (Chair), Faculty Deans, Directors of the OVCAA-supervised offices, University Librarian, Asst. to the VCAA on Research and Publications, and PDA for International Linkages. The committee deliberates on academic concerns during its monthly meetings.
Research and Publications Committee
The UPOU Research and Publications Committee (RPC) is responsible for research initiatives and activities of the University including review and approval of grants, systematizing publishing research works, and policy recommendation. The UPOU RPC constitutes the VCAA (Chair), Asst. to the VCAA on Research and Publication, Faculty Office Representatives, and REPS representative. The committee reviews and acts on research matters during its monthly meetings.
Institutional Research Ethics Committee
The UP Open University Institutional Research Ethics Committee (UPOU IREC), a Level 1 accredited by the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PHREB), oversees the ethical soundness of research conducted by UPOU faculty members, students, REPS, and staff.
SDG Oversight Committee
The UPOU Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Oversight Committee is tasked to study the role of sustainable development in the attainment of university’s mandate and performance of academic and administrative functions, formulate policy on sustainable development as a thrust for the university; and recommend policy directions for sustainable academic and administrative operations in the university.
